The
uniform temperature distribution and fine temperature hysterisis of
the Gorix E-CT element allows the positioning of the element surface
to be closer to the driver's skin (reducing insulation thickness) facilitating
further enhancement of response time.
Also
in the field of Automotive Seating is the necessity to detect seat occupancy.
There have been occurrences of Air-Bag deployment into the seat occupied
by children and their rear facing infant seats and the consequential
death or serious injury as a result. Gorix Ltd have used the resistance
signature of Gorix E-CT as a means of identifying the load placed upon
a car seat and through circuitry can differentiate between infants and
adults. No commercial partner has yet been found to advance this interesting
and important and potentially lifesaving phenomenon.
Other
automotive interior applications for Gorix E-CT include Door trim panel,
Roof liner, Floor carpet and Steering wheel heaters, while using Gorix
E-CT for under hood battery warmers and oil pan heaters are being considered
for colder territories. One enterprising Engineer has put forward the
possibility of applying Gorix E-CT to the Catalytic converter to pre
warm the device and thus make it operable even on journeys of short
duration. Given the unique electrical properties of Gorix E-CT, perhaps
the cloth could one day find its way into fuel cells.
