Gorix
Ltd have pioneered the use of Electro-Conductive textiles in clothing
and over the years have developed the most advanced temperature control
system for clothing. The well known Dive Suit Manufacturers, Typhoon International
Ltd of Redcar England, have recently successfully negotiated for the world
wide licence rights to use the XCM (eXtreme Climate Management) technology
in dive suit products.
The
Gorix heating system is a major breakthrough in sub-aqua technology where,
until the XCM, suits heated by piped hot water pumped down from a support
vessel have been the only real means of enhancing diver comfort in hostile
and cold sea conditions.
The
patented heating system employed in the Typhoon XCM Dive Suit is comprised
of a series of heater pads located in strategic anatomical areas, the
heater pads are attached to the inner face of an undersuit constructed
from materials with especially high insulation values. The power to heat
the pads is derived from a stainless steel battery stick mounted on the
diver's air cylinders; the battery stick's slim profile will not restrict
manoeuvrability for the diver.
The
Gorix Heater Pads at the heart of the XCM system are computer programmed
to deliver the optimum heat output with safety and comfort. The computer
hardware and software of the XCM system have been developed by Gorix technicians
and the control algorithms are copyright.
The
XCM Dive Suit has been put through its paces by the best; tested by both
the commercial dive industry and military organisations around the world,
the XCM has proved the most effective solution to cold environment diving.
NATO approval trials are underway and full military clearance is expected
shortly, thus enabling the Typhoon XCM to become a standard issue military
garment.
Work
is underway to develop the XCM system for Snowmobile and Cold Store Worker's
Suits. The XCM temperature management system can be programmed to provide
a very even and precise heat at the particular temperature level preferred
by each individual user.
