John
was educated at Liverpool College. He then pursued a career in Civil Engineering
and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Engineers. His Civil Engineering
career led him to New Zealand, where having studied syzmic effect, he
specialised in "In Soil Structures".
At
the termination of his contract, John decide to stay in New Zealand to
try to make a business out of his diving hobby - the design and manufacture
of wet suits.Over
the next 15 years, he created an international business, employing 130
personnel around the Pacific Rim, which had a turnover of NZ D 14 million.
In
1986, development capital was accepted from Charter Corporation of USA.
Subsequent accelerated expansion was brought to an abrupt halt by the
financial collapse of the backer.
The
Company, Neptune Oceanics, was sold off to another NZ company and John
returned to the UK. Here, he took up a role with Marine Survival Systems
Limited and helped develop a new state of the art range of abandonment
suits and lifejackets.
This
eventually, indirectly, led to his current role at Gorix Limited.
