TYRE HEATERS

Formula 1 is probably the finest example of technology at work in sport; few sports depend on the infinitesimal fractions of seconds that separate Victors from Vanquished and few sports are capable of mustering the revenues to purchase the technologies needed to shave off those fractions of seconds.

Gorix Ltd have recently developed a revolutionary form of tyre heating system for Motor Sport. Based on a special variant of Gorix that as yet is being used nowhere else, the tyre heaters can deliver large amounts of heat uniformly to the tyre surface. The current approach to tyre heating is by metallic element heaters, these leave a complex thermal signature across the tyre face creating hot spot cold spot patterning. With the Gorix Heater system complete symmetry of temperature is registered.

With only 11 Teams competing in Formula 1, there will be no great demand for the system; it will however by collaboration with companies like Ferrari, Beneton, Williams, Maclaren, Jaguar and Arrows provide an excellent high profile PR position for Gorix Ltd.

By far the better financial prospect for the Tyre Heating System will be Motorcycle Racing; here too parts of seconds count, but the major difference between the two sports is that in Motorcycle Racing all formulas can use heaters and it is not just limited to the elite formula. The heater blankets can be set up to work from either mains voltage at 120v or 240 volts AC or run from 12 to 24 volts DC dependent on the choice of cloth used in them.
