Rob,
the "prime inventor", is recognised as the driving force behind the Company.
He left school without academic qualifications, at the age of 14. His
latent strength - an interest in inventions led to the filling of his
first patent at age 18 for a collapsible lamp-post.
Allied
to his experience at sea as a commercial Fisherman and its obvious survival
hazards, his interest in survival clothing systems and related equipment,
he commenced working with textiles with distinctive thermal characteristics,
establishing his own manufacturing unit.
This
was allied to research into thermo-chromatic and photo-chromatic inks
and dyes. This work subsequently led to marine clothing development and
thermal evaluation systems and the discovery of the fibre that eventually
led to "Gorix" Electro-Conductive Textile.
